Yep, read it again Bob, and I'll put my hands up to misreading what you put.

Good luck to the guy with the problem in any case.

Re: Fibreglassing/flowcoat waterfall problem, advice please

Pointing heat at uncured resin/flocoat? You could set yourself on fire doing that! Take a look at the hazard warning labels on the resins, even better look at the flash points in the data sheets for the materials. Waiting for flocoat to thicken up to get it on thick? Bob, I'm sorry fella but this is...

Re: Fiberglazing help

Hi Mick If you want to fibreglass I would suggest forgetting about rendering the pond and line it with insulating foam board such as Kingspan. I would recommend getting someone in to fibreglass a pond of that size. It won't cost you that much more to hire someone to do a really professional job tha...

Re: heating about 200Gal

If using a glass aquarium heater make sure it's potected from the koi and won't get broken by the fish or the pond user by accident.

The consequences of a broken heater are self explanatory.

Re: Pond lighting - Is it a science?

I've seen plenty of ponds with lights built in underwater. You know like very large 15" diameter swimming pool lights. Having seen a couple of these full of water and fish I wasn't very impressed with the look. Lighting above the pool to highlight a particular feature without the light source i...

Nice job so far.

Re: Which Kingspan for insulation?

Hollow. Sorry if the other explanation wasn't clear. I fix the foam to the walls first, now as most ponds aren't built true square there may be a gap that needs filling in the corners. It can either be filled with a slice of foam or bridged with a fillet. (the fillets also aid water flow round the p...

Re: Which Kingspan for insulation?

Most interesting that you used bricks to make the fillet. One of the benefits of using PU is that is can be sculptured to make fillets or radii to aid water flow without the need for a rigid backing. These can be placed vertically and horizontally on the floor. Once grp is applied over the PU you've...

Re: Which Kingspan for insulation?

Another tip for your glassing. Wear gloves, vapour mask, long sleeves and do not smoke anywhere near the job or you are running a big risk as everything you'll be handling is flammable. Whatever you do don't get the hardener in your eyes-you'll experience a pain like nothing on Earth if you do, so we...

Re: Which Kingspan for insulation?

Try to maintain a constant 15c if you can, you'll be nice and comfortable working in that temp too. Same for the flowcoat application but be fast applying the flocoat without panicking. Get that out of the bucket quickly so the heat building up in the flowcoat doesn't send it off like a rocket ship!...
