Re: Can fish feel fear or pain?
I suppose it depends on how you define fear, humans and animals think in different ways. Fight or flight is a basic survival instinct in reaction to perceived danger rather than the result of cognitive thinking so yes, I do think all animals feel fear.

I'm not really an asker either. It's not that I know it all, very far from it, but when we do have a problem Terry usually knows what to do and if I want to know something I ask him or look in Dunc's book. I still like to visit and read though, there's stuff I've read about on here that I never knew...

I agree with Lee, it should be thrown out. She should be charged with wasting the court's time too.

Remember the words of the great Mahatma Ghandi: “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” How true that is Bob. They have nothing worthwhile or interesting to contribute so they steal from and try to put down those who do. If people like them hate you then ...

Have you looked at Aquosis vats? Useful as a temporary pond and a handy QT vat after you've built your new pond.

Re: Dam flukes
How exactly did you word the sturgeon question Lee? Have you asked if they have done clinical trials on sturgeons, and if so which species? As you know, some species are more sensitive than others (your Diamonds for example). Not all med peddlers actually test on all the species they claim their pro...

Re: Dam flukes
I believe the active ingredient in Fluke-solve is praziquantel? We know Fluke M/Flubenol is ok with sturgeons but have no idea about Fluke-solve/praziquantel. Even if it wasn't such a daft price we wouldn't use our fish to test it.

Re: Dam flukes
Acetone is a solvent, most commonly available as nail varnish remover. Flubenol/Fluke M doesn't dissolve well in water but does in acetone, you only need a very small amount of it.

Re: Who uses a uv?
The main pond is in full sun all day so that has a UV on all year round. The front garden (goldfish) pond doesn't get as much sun and the water lily pretty much covers the surface in the summer so we haven't needed a UV on that for years.

Re: Koi dome!!!
We couldn't find any prices on the website so a friend emailed them. Are you sitting down? Prices start at....
£3,000.00

It can't be that difficult to make one yourself, it would certainly be cheaper.
