Feeding rates for BHM

Hi all. I've been very interested in BHM now for a fair amount of years. But after all the research I have done on it I can't work out how many kilo's of BHM will support X amount of food????? I guess flow rates play a major part, temperature, but is there a ball park figure out there? I have just ta...

Re: advice please

Something like that mate? :) I have 2 sheds back to back. One is 8ft the other with tank in is 11ft. Eventually. hopefully next year, I will do away with the 8ft one and do an extension on the other. The fibreglass tank will be sold on, then I will build myself an 8ft X 5ft X 7ft QT/grow pond in the...

Re: advice please

As you can probably see? In order to fit my equipment in the shed I had to make some staging over my tank..... It takes up an area of approx 5ft X 2ft of surface area that can't be seen, so by doing away with the pod I'll manage to free up the ugliness of the equipment and more area to see if I can ...

Re: advice please

Hi Gaz hope your well? I'll take some pics later and show you one of a few reasons why I want to get rid of Pod..... Nothing personal about the Pod, it's a great filter and is and has looked after my boys and girls perfectly for this past year....... As I said. photo's will explain a bit..... Wish m...

advice please

Hi I need a bit of help please guys.... I'm in the process of getting some bits together to change my filter set up on my 450gl QT. At present the QT is one of the fibreglass 5ft X 5ft X 3ft big foot jobbies. It is filtered by an aquamax 5500 connected to bottom drain, to 1kw elecro heater, UV then ...

Not Sure????

Sorry couldn't think of a name for the subject field..... Any way.. I read somewhere our good friend Mike Snaden had some news on a new RO system that treats the pond water it's self???? Wow! This sounds great. But having been away from my trusty old laptop/internet for a while, I am unsure where to...

Re: filter

That or an eazy pod will do fine... a fair bit more cleaning maintainance will be needed with the Kockney Koi filter as oppossed to the eazyness of cleaning the Pod!

Re: new pond

Hi, Getting a surveyor in could well be a good idea! At least he should be able to advise you in what you could or can't do! Could actually end up saving you money rather than costing you it! I'm guessing you want to get cracking and be building it now? But spending more time getting it right and mo...

Re: new pond

Firstly hello and welcome to a wonderful website and the world of Koi and ponds......

Re: Shower Tower?

Thanks for the replys guys... :D

One of my concerns was that I thought the point of the showers was air exchange to take place (As well as the sheer volocity onto media?)
But I suppose if you guys are saying go for it, then go for it eventually I shall.

Cheers

Col :)
