i see want you all are saying but i currently have flat bottom i do get some crap around the edges , i also have a air bottom drain and this leading to full bore 4" pipe via one 90 deg bend .
i think im gonna stick with my plan or just bench a slope 2ft away from the sides

you have a flat bottom must be all that sitting down you do gazza
but back on topic surely it helps as a fail safe if you miss calculate max flow of around 2222 gal [give or take for bends] and hour via your 4" pipe

hi all
hi all i am re-building my pond and wondered on peoples views on benched bottoms vs flat i guess there will be a big divide in those that have slopped/benched bottom and those that don't please could you help me make im mind up. as im currently going sloped slightly towards the bottom drain.
