Louie,
Thanks for the reply
The rain water chilling the pond water was my main concern, but i guess the cover will still help the pond retain more heat than an uncovered pond

Hi, I have just finished my pond cover ready for the coming winter, It is timber frame with poly carb sheeting it has a fall of around 2" but on testing the water flow away, the water finds the joints in the polycarb and dumps in to the pond instead of flowing down the polycarb and away from th...

Re: Major pond re-build
Stu,
Thats a different method of construction, and will be interesting to see what the cost is compared to the more usual methods of construction
Good luck with the build and keep us up to date with plenty of pics

Re: skimmer
Hi Taxikoi, I dont think the pump would be a problem as i am using the 8500 dry mounted on a gravity fed pod with no problems I think that hydro clean filters have to be pump fed so you would be best with 2" off your skimmer to pump and 2" from pump to filter When you say you Are having tr...

Re: Pond build update
Rich,
Many thanks for your kind words,
I've had a few health problems since putting the fish in, but seem to be getting on top of it now and
Yes a lot of time and money has gone into the build but its well worth it

Re: new pond build
Hi Jonny and welcome, Well not a lot more advice can be given, but the nexus filters do need regular cleaning,(every 5 days at the moment for me) which as you probably already know are easy to clean, but if planning to go away on holiday you need to stop feeding or have someone compitent to do your ...

How much K1
Hi
Well with all the fish health problems i've had this spring i've decided to set up a Q/T, using my old 3 bay filter with brushes, flo cor (excuse the spelling) and converting the 3rd chamber to fluid K1 but how much K1 should i put in a 23"x13"x14" chamber
cheers Alan

Fisherboyfishy,
why not core drill at the bottom of the pond and trench to your filter bay with 1 swept 90 bend straight to your filter, then lay your base over the pipe

Re: Pond Re-Build! Help Please!
Hi fisherboy, I can't see any problem with your idea for boxing in the 4" pipework to the bottom drain as it will give a nice rounded corner as for the benching of the base i dont feel this is really needed as the pull through the B/D especially if aerated should clear the base without any prob...
