Re: Pond lighting - Is it a science?
Hi Max, Nothing of real value to add I am afraid. I think lights can look very interesting depending on your pond design. No real thought on how to do it though as it was something I have never really considered. I have seen IP67 LED lights on sale but I was looking at installing it in the decking s...

Re: High volume eco-pump
I am getting about 2,500 gallons an hour straight through the pond wall via a 2" pipe and a 3" to 2" reducer. It is drawing 150W so it ain't too bad.

Re: High volume eco-pump
Bob, Maybe that is because I keep on getting them too cheap!! I don't think they were his best sellers. He may have pulled them temporarily for the winter. You are welcome to try out my spare one as long as you promise not to break it. It is still in its packaging so there should be no problem with ...

Re: High volume eco-pump
Hi,
nothing much to add except that the pump is still going. I have bought a second one just in case it decide to play up but so far no sign of any problems.

Re: Koi Muppets On Tour
Hi Bob,
glad you are awake.
All you have to do is to set up a google Picasa account or similar. It will allow you to select the photos (all of them if you wish) and it will upload them for you while you are sleeping or what ever else you choose to spend your time on.

Re: Aquamax Eco failure. Suggestions?
Max, Keep touching that head of yours! If I remember correctly there was a lot of complaints about the eco 8,000 packing in for no reasons at all, also a few eco 12,000. If they swithched the production to the far east (read China) then that would explain it! Never trust a dodgy Chinaman or one from...

Re: High volume eco-pump
Of course 2,5000 is a typo. It should have been 2,500.0 to be precise. :D It does pass the ronseal test in a manner of speaking, but I suggest the pump should be renamed HP15000 rather than HP20000. I am just not expecting it to be the most robust pump in my collection, but then again I got it cheap...

Re: High volume eco-pump
I forgot to post the actuall wattage of the pump, I thought I have done so! The stated wattage of the pump HP20000 is 140W, the actual wattage from my meter saids 150W but my voltage was a little down at 228V. I think this means the wattage would be lower if my voltage was higher and closer to the s...

Hi Max,
I was going to say to you put a post on here to ask what is the best options for pumps, but you have obviously beaten me to it.

Re: High volume eco-pump
Hi Max, The reducer I used wasn't the one you give me. Mine is stone age compared to yours!! Yours had the tapered reduction from 3" to 2", mine just goes straight from 3" to 2", meaning that the water hits a wall then squeezes into the 2" bit!! Unfortunately I couldn't take...

Re: High volume eco-pump
My pond is totally enclosed, so I don't really worry about noise too much! Plus I am already running a shower and no one has ever complained about that so I don't foresee any problems in my case. If you are worried about noise then off course you can construct something to reduce the noise (so...

Re: High volume eco-pump
Hi Jane, Your images have gone! But I am pretty sure you would have found the right thing. Another thing I had in mind, inspired by your cooker extractror fan, is the aluminum ducts for the extractor fans. I am sure I have some somewhere. Now all I need to know is how toxic, if at all, is aluminum t...

Re: High volume eco-pump
Jane, That's is not so stupid, as I was thinking of something similar. But I would like it to be face on to the pipe rather than the rather sharp bend. Bob, BTW the 2" @0.3 m was done through a 6' pipe run 9limitation of my filter set up!) and a really terrible 3" to 2" reducer. So it...
