Ed, you can't blow through feather rock either. It has alot of closed cells as well.

well according to the BH experts you would want double your pond volume going through the shower so if your tower is 4 foot tall that would be a pump with a nominal out put of about 10-12,000 g/h static and 7,000 at the head.

Pretty much the same as Dunc with a minumum at >7*C. This is the temperature I am usually at in the winter. I'm at about 10*C at the moment.
