Re: One I did yesterday

I do have a 13" X 8' photo electric panel in the garage which I will be installing on the roof of the garage to power some lights come winter. The garage itself is about 150 yards from my house and not connected to the grid.

Re: oxygen

Mole, Don't dive shops sell AIR and not oxygen? Breathing pure O2 while diving is an excellent way to kill yourself! Below 10 meters it is poisonious breathed pure. Unless the shop has rebreather equipment they shouldn't sell O2. If I am not mistaken you cannot "BUY" O2 cylinders, just pay...

Re: Wood teatments around the pond

Wood rot occurs at places where water ingresses into the wood and then doesn't easily evaporate. I'm thinking mainly of joints, parts on top, where bits of wood overlap and touch each other and especially where it is buried in soil or concrete. Ends beams and planks tend to soak up water at an accel...

!00% with Eds

If you don't load it natuarally or chemically, the filter will not mature. If the temperature drops below 16*C the filter will stop the maturing as well but will continue as soon as the temperature rises again.

Re: Pergola and more!

Out in back you are free to smoke as much of whatever you choose... just no butts in the pond or on the ground please! Had a young friend visit from the USA a while back. On the last night he spent most of his time out back I turned to his brother who doesn't smoke and said "MUST... FINISH... D...

Re: oxygen

A very simple way is to to to the local koi/fish dealer that has O2 and have them fill a (non leaking) dustbin liner with O2 for you. You then put the fish in the shipping bag, press all the air out and take a bit of hose pipe and put it in the mouth of the bin liner bag and the mouth of the shippin...

Re: One I did yesterday

Question. Why can't a solar unit (on the roof) provide power (via electric cabling) to an external element/pump, close to the pond to circulate and heat pond water? Am I barking mad or have I missed something. TicToc It can Max but you will need a sh1t-load of them to do it. How many sq feet...

Tock,
Go for the mushroom style eco pump. Costs a bit more but will pay back in a year or two.

Re: Lots Of Pond Build Questions

Why are Brits so down on liner ponds? In Holland they comprise about 90% of all pond builds.
