Re: Soragoi turning brown on head
Hi Stu, RO is not always the answer as there is a lot of it in genetics and food i messed about with some foods for a good few years and some had a big impact on the colours in the fish and some made them very fat. One thing i found is that if you change food you need to stay on it for a good season...

Re: Soragoi turning brown on head
Hi,
Depending how much food being fed and type this can also change the colour on fish but so does the water as some fish will darker up in water with a higher PH than they are used to,a bit like some fish go dark as they get older.

Re: 2-phenoxyethanol
Hi Dave, I have found in the past that even if you do the correct dose all fish will react different and some will go under faster than others and will also be in a deeper sedation. I tend to mix up a bowl with some in it ready making sure i have everything i need to hand so i am ready for action as...

Cover Off
Hi Guys, I couldn't take it anymore so it was off with the covers yesterday Unfortunately i wanted to take them off as i had a poorly fish from when the boiler packed up and she never made it which was a bit gutting as it was a Tosai i had from the Muppet's Tour in 2008. So the cover come off and i ...

Re: Koi Anatomy Question
Hi Bob,
Not as far as i am aware and but if it was i then i would be getting the fish into a bowl where i can have a good look and feel of the fish including turning the fish over as sometimes the deformity can be below the lateral line and is easier to be seen from underneath.

Re: Bakki Showers Question
Hi Kim, Yes your last paragraph is 100% bang on :D :D Yes the BHM does all the work and if you get the flow rate right it will work a treat :D Although BHM can handle anything but if you can put cleaner water over it Kim then it will work a treat and you will never have to touch it so no maintenance...

Re: Bakki Showers Question
Hi Kim, I think there is a bit of a misconception/mix up on Bakki Showers and i try not to get involved much now as it can all get a bit funny  A Bakki Shower is a stainless steel shower (containers that hold the media) which is made to the specifications of the Momotaro Koi Farm and uses BHM...
