Gazza that’s a compliment to your water management skills.
It seems that my poor way of explaining myself is confusing the issue on tds.
So I will try not to mention it again (not promising though lol)
Or try to word things better.

I had a re read bob your right.
I dont think you'll get the TDS lower than the tap water John.

I did say I was bad at explaining myself.
How are mini and the tds doing?
Cheers

Hi gazza
Had a read on the link that Jules put up on the biochip,
To me it does look like its perpas is as a fluidized super fines mechanical filter off course with all the other benefits (bacterial) may be best suited in the last bay.
Any thought on this line rather that static k1.
Cheers

Oh bob you snuck in there. You and gazza peas in a pod. :) Ok I am a slow typer lol. And I don’t explain too good oh well. Irrespective of kh/gh readings you have a base line of 250 tds. Ro water come to think of it would also have a base line. A buffered pond would have a base ...

Hi gazza Not directly. What tds reading in relationship to the kh/gh. If lower how much lower % wise. Bob has a reading of 250 to aim for because of his input water reading. Regardless of his kh/gh readings How does this affect you with your ro. And ponds that need to be buffered. No base line readi...

You did ask some good questions there bob. The TDS relationship has opened my eyes hopefully the easy will contribute greatly to removing the fines before they can get to the stage of increasing the tds. I don’t think I have ever come across a supply tds reading as yours with such a high comb...

Agreed gazza
But it seems I am finding out the hard way its not all about filtration.
If your water chemistry isn’t right it doest mater how much or how good your filtration is. It just wont cut it.
Boo hoo.

Oh bob I wish you had pointed me in the Wright direction, I thought you meant previous articles by mike. This makes things a lot clearer (yeah as mud) Just when I thought I was getting an elementary understanding of water chemistry you come out with this mike. So what does this mean for the humble t...

Gazza im not questioning the calibration the readings seem too way of for it to be this.
If the calibration was correct I would expect the pond to look like a bubble bath.if you believe the readings from the water purifier.

Sorry just walked in, been up Newcastle but had to see how minni was doing. I understand what your saying bob but a tds of 250 is still lower than your GH. And there’s still the majority of the kh plus all other things that would increase the reading. This doesn’t ad up to me. Sorry. J...

Bob how can you have a tds reading of 250 on the water out of the purifier with them kh & GH readings.
Either I am missing something or the meter is faulty.

So they work on exactly the same principle and the benefits come from increased surface area, thanks gazza
