OK pump is here, will give it a run tonight but can't do any proper testing until the weekend!

Well I for one can't wait for the next thrilling installment. Who can I blame for not looking at this thread earlier besides myself  . With all this sun we've had recently, surely DHO can get out in the garden one night this week. Would you please also attempt to run with a dimmer switch?

Scott its Monday and you haven't posted a chart yet Mukka :!: Hope you got over that nasty itch

It is not the sun that is the problem! I have lights in my shed, the wonders of technology! :D

I usually get home pretty late (8:30ish) which but that is not problem in this case, I don't have any 3" pipework to do any testing nor do I have a 3" to 2" reducer to fit it on my current set up to compare it with my Aquaxmax 12000. So any real testing will have to wait until I get the right bits from the shop!

Dimmer switch? Don't have one and don't see the point of wasting good electricity heating up a coil of copper wire! It still cost the same to run with or without the dimmer switch so I think you would be better off getting a pump that matches your needs.

David.

Hi David - Depending where you are in London I can probably get some 3" to you this week and svae a bit of your time. How much do you need? A metre? Will also check with the pumbing shop for 3" to 2" reducer. Whats the first three digits of your postcode?

Scott - Alledgedly Confucius had the same problem! Suggest planning your Saturday evenings a little more carefully.

David,
The dimmer switch jane refered to can be used to regulate the speed of the pump as well as your lights~!

when did i say dimmer switch ??? :? :? :? :?:

DHO, if the output of the pump is 3" whats it look like down the pipe. i can't imagine a pump that has a 3" hole over the top of the impellor. get the camera out and give us some detail shots of the pump to look at whilst your getting the bits together for testing.

I'm Sparticus.............. and so is my wife! Mea culpa.

David is on the button about the burn on the dimmers, but I wanted the dimmer option for that switch up to maximun or down offable just incase  ........I'll get my coat........

I'm very interested in this thread as I need 2 x sump pumps (gravity feed)for nexus 300? If I choose a larger pump I can reduce the pull but if the chap is to small I'm knackered. Yes I need alot more bits and pieces but trying/attempting to do what we always want to do. Get it right first time........

Cheers,

Tock,
Go for the mushroom style eco pump. Costs a bit more but will pay back in a year or two.
