Simply Koi and More Koi

Had a re-think on my possible set up. 3000gal 4in bottom drain 3in skimmer already done so cant really change now. both skimmer and bd to go through sieve then t-off to biomax 25 to feed waterfall. and too biomax 50 through tmc55 uv to pond returns in side wall of pond or is it better to put both too inlet on uv using both inlet ports then using both outlets on uv one to waterfall then the other back to pond.

I would have said that you want to keep the two circuits completely seperate, as, amongst other things, you wouldn`t want to be running the waterfall all year round. Too much cooling of the water. If you are going for a sieve before the biomax 50, you might have to get another for the other circuit. ( I haven`t got a clue what a biomax is, a bit modern for me, I`m still using my 20 year old multibay filter )

With the uv, ( I`ve never heard of one with two entries and exits ) you have the choice of which circuit you put it on, and I would suggest that you put it on the bottom drain one, as more water will be exposed to its influence. If you go for the skimmer circuit, you are only uv`ing the surface water, and it will really struggle to give you the clear water you want.
