heat exchanger temps

Hi all,
was wondering what sort of temp you should expect from the return from the heat exchanger to the pond. only asking because just tested mine, comming from the xchager to the pond is only 1 degree higher than the actual pond itself.....is this right? (pond at 14, heat exchanger return 15).
the exchanger itself is a 230,000 btu, pumped by a sequence 13000.
would a smaller pump help with a higher contact time?
any help appreciated
cheers
ian

i would expect it depends what temp & differential you have set your digistat to  assuming you have installed one ? also might depend on the temp of the water being supplied to the heat exchanger form your boiler ?

hi all,
dont matter what the didistat set to, all that does is put heat on/heat off signal. you should get a constant temp to your h exchanger. think you are right though, think i'm getting to much heat loss from boiler to heat exchanger.
thanks for the replies
