Hello All last week I bought a Blagdon Interpet Pond Air 2 Pump System. At the moment I have this in my garage which is a fair way from my pond
I am wanting to know if I can place the pump into a plastic container and place this next to the pond and have it plugged into my Blagdon Powersafe 3 Switch Outdoor Box?
I am asking as on the box it says the pump should be indoor use only
Hope someone could help me with this
Kind regards Paul

Hi Paul,
If you put the pump in a plastic bag it wont be getting fresh air and it may also overheat. Could you perhaps make a small enclosure with some vents in so it can get fresh air circulation but not get wet perhaps

It is a plastic container I am wanting to use say 3 times bigger than the pump. So if i use little vent of some sort you think this will be ok?
also how about it being wired up using the Blagdon Powersafe 3 Switch Outdoor Box? would that be ok also or do u think maybe the pump needs its own fuse?
thanks again Paul

Hi Paul,
As long as it doesn't get wet and there is enough air movement through the container i think it will all be OK.

I must admit, as a tempory measure before I have placed a large aquarium pump on a couple of bricks (to keep it off the floor/damp grass) under a bucket and it did fine for a few months.
I must add this was a temporary measure when digging the new pond!
I've got this airpump now though. Cant remember exact litres per minute of mine i think its about 20 and suits me fine:
