Re: Best Bead filters
i have a BioMax25 after an Ultrasieve 2 on my skimmer line. really happy with it & intend , when my budget allows , to be upgrading the 25 to a 50. (this is also on 5000g. alongside a nexus 200).

what no comments ????
Re: Best Bead filters
I have a 3500 gallon pond, using an Aquadyne 2.2b ( rated up to 6500 gallons). I can't remember now how many years I've had it .... but it's a brilliant bit of kit.
Re: Best Bead filters
Have to agree with Jeff, Aquadyne are an awesome filter. Fit a sieve before hand and takes most of the solids out and then you have crystal clear water. There is now a low wattage pump that also works well with these filters too.
Re: Best Bead filters
i too have an aquadyne and they are great.mine has vortex before it and has crystal clear water.only thing i really wish they had was a viewing window so i can sit there and watch things move around.
Another good bead filter and a little bit cheaper is the hybrid filter from Select.
you have just missed two 4.4 aquadynes go really cheap on ebay they are good for 12000gals

I have the Aquadyne 2.2b and never had any problems only really clear water. Only thing is the pump running costs. Costs around £600 a year to run the pump I have on it. What pump are you refering to Jules as I need a new pump.
