Simply Koi and More Koi

Hi all,

Had a mouth issue on my Matsue Kohaku for nearly 2 months now.

Have treated on a number of occasions, using HP to clean the wound as good as possible and then applying MFR-1 and sealed with lock n seal plus, also on one occasion gave AB with Enroflox.

This thing does not seem to wanna heal up, im only at 18 degree so not really warm water but also not in any position to heat the pond

Anything you guys could suggest? i Was pointed to the stuff water garden sells, Koi Clear being a gel with ozone??

Really be interested to hear what the Koi Quest Crew think?

hi ya mate

this is trying to heal trouble is the mouth is a hard place to heal up because its constantly being rubbed on the pond floors and walls so it will take a while but it looks clean and also looks like its trying to heal but bare in mind there is very little or no bottom jaw so it will take a while

Hi Dunc, hope your well fella.

Yes always an awkward place when it's your own Koi Hope the weather warms up a little more to aid the healing.

All I can do is observer through the window and act if need be, pain in the backside these bacterial issues seen and heard so many more this year from koi keepers up and down the place.

im fine mate,

you could try periodic Chloramine T doses help keep the bacterial levels down, but other than that you are doing and have done all that can be done given the loss of tissue and bone

May I ask how would you do this, do you a full 3 day course or a do a CT treatment say once every couple of weeks. Just wondering as I am following another post about the use of CT and I am trying to learn as muh as possible about the use of CT so hearing your thought on this would be great.
