Hi All.
Been a while since i have been on here.
Just a question , do koi survive for long if the have a tumour?
I have a showa that i have noticed a bulge on one side near the back around the area where females some times bulge out when carrying eggs though a bit higher up just under the lateral line. i dont know the sex of the koi so if its female could it just be eggs that are over to one side?
Swimming around and feeding ok though it did have a swim bladder problem a few months ago when we had up and down temps. i will probably have to get the fish out and have a closer look at some point just feel the lump to see if its soft or hard.

Hi Amanda
I have a koi thats had a lump on it's side for about 3 years,it's not bothered just acts normal and feeds well so I just leave it alone as long it looks happy.

Regards Geoff

Thanks Geoff.
I was a bit concerned but as its feeding well at the moment and seems fine so i will as you do and just let it live its life in peace until it tells me otherwise. :)

Hi Amanda
This is the koi on the right took October 2008,not a good picture but the lump it all down the right from the pec fin,it also has a top lip extruding over it's bottom lip so has to stick it's head out the water and makes a noise when it eats but still happy and I have plenty of room in the pond so I'm more than happy to give it a good home.

Regards Geoff
