Sleeping Flukes or dead?

Hi Folks
I was invited to attend a friends pond where he was having his koi treated. I went along with my microscope to carry out a few scrapes to see what I could find. The first koi which was by far in the worst condition, I found about 30 flukes on one slide possibly more. Strangely they alll looked asleep all but maybe one or two. The majority of them were perfectly formed and you could still see the babies inside. This may seem a silly question but do flukes play dead? On closer inspection I found loads of costia which were clearly very active. I scraped another koi in the time allowed and did not find anything. It has been a couple of months since his pond was treated for costia( M&F twice) so I would be worried about the sleeping flukes if it was me.
After getting a water report done, It is suspected that zinc has been the main cause of his problems and ma ywell be why the wounds on his koi are not healing. After topically treating his koi and using antibiotics. The pond was then PPd at 1.5ppm.
I would suggest that several koi need to be scraped to see what the situation is with the flukes and also see if we have got rid of the costia,or should he wait a week and treat for flukes.anyway? Best Regards Dave
