these are two new sankes in my growing on pond.the breeder is shintaro they are 18 months old. i met the great man and asked him for his no 1 koi in the pond and he bowled it which i liked my self and i got it is one of these. so which one is his no1 koi.See how good of a eye you have got. also say why you have picked that koi.thanks.
I'm a real novice, but I too went for no.2 because the head is clean as are the fins and the skin quality looks good, and the pattern - to my eye is clearly marked.
Well for Me Del. There is no competion I would pick Koi 2 all day long. Its hard to say just from a picture but it looks to have better skin quality and body shape. What You can see from a photo, is it has a better Kohaku pattern than one with both good Kiwa, where the red overlays the white. And Sashi where the white overlays the red. . It also has a good Bekko pattern with very bold clean Sumi markings. A good Sanke should be both a Good Kohaku and a good Bekko. The main thing that no one else has mentioned yet is the head pattern of Koi 1. Idealy Sumi on a Sanke should stop at the shoulders. The Beni should stop at the eyes to reveal clean Muji to the nose and Mouth. Displayed nicely in Koi 2.
For Me Koi 2 just gives a better picture of a good Sanke, where as Koi 1 is a little messy but far from finished, So that will change.
If it was My money it would be Koi 2

No.2 for me too. You won the lottery or something Del, buying the house next door to build a 16000G pond in the garden then buying up all these great fish!
Cracking pond and fish mate, keep the pictures coming
