Simply Koi and More Koi

Hi all
I am under the construction/building phase on my new pond.
It's going to be 7,5 m long 4 m wide and the depth is going to be around 2,3 m and kidney shaped.
My question is:
I would like to heat my pond during autumn and winter to gain a temp at aprox 16 degrees celcius.
But what is the most effecient way to heat so i don't have to spend a fortune on heating bills.
We don't have a boiler on our house for heating.
Any suggestions???
What are the alternatives?

Look into ground source heat pump systems.Getting popular for koi ponds over here right now.

Stephan, I assume you do not have mains gas in your house. Be aware that a pond the size you are planning (my guess 35,000 to 50,000 liters) is going to cost an absolute fortune to heat in the Swedish winter and even more so if done electricly. In the heart of winter you might expect 2000 to 4000 kw a MONTH if it is uncovered. Having it insulated as Marice at Koi UK did with his pond is also worth thinking about. Heat pumps are indeed the cheapest way to heat a pond or a house for that matter. The cost about a third less than a condencing boiler and 60% less than electrical heating. They are extremely reliable and easy to maintain BUT... The unit itself and especially the installation are not cheap. My guess is that a 10-15kw unit is going to cost somewhere in the region of 8-10 thousand euros to buy and have installed. Having said that a this would pay for itself in about 5 years and perhaps even quicker if you get one large enough for heating both pond and house!
