hi all i am about to start drilling holes in my tank to fit 6mm airline i am going to use Pneumatic Push-in Fittings so will be a really proper job i am going to make a manifold to sit on the centre base and then feed airline to bulkhead fittings around the tanks and then airline to the stones but all i need to know is have i got the bays in the right order as one is a vortex but has now got brushes in
two is jap mating and three is alfagrog with foam and four is k1 with air
i am thinking about swaping three and four over the water is good but i still have this worrieing thought its wrong
i intend to put a airstone in the slips that feeds bay two so jap matting has air then a airstone to bay three in the inlet slip then five in bay four with the k1 and then 1 stone to pond i did not think i would need a lot in the pond as bay four is k1 with air so water going back is well aired all i need to know is are the bays ok and were do i put the air as i dont want to stir up the bottoms to much i just want all the bacteria to be well aired so the filters working at 100%
this info will help as i am about to order all the bits of fleabay and if i get it wrong its £50 down the drian and my filter will be full of holes in wrong place

dazza, your gonna get loads of views on this i would have thought , but heres what i would consider .....

1, firstly lose the brushes in the vortex and convert if possible to static k1 , in other words an easy
2, the alpha grog with foam
3, fluidised k1
4, fluidised k1
5 jap mat

i would obviously have an air ring in the easy for cleaning of the static....small air you could put in the alpha grog bay but with 2 heavily aerated fluidised k1 bays is not essential , and a small amount of air in the last (jap mat bay)...= loads of air, loads of bio ,easy cleaning , if the mechanical side of the system (i.e. the easy )is done correctly to stop the crud then the heavily fluidised bays wont have any as the air wont allow settlement in any case , good luck with whatever you decide...
