Post by MikeWh »

Hi I'm sure it's covered in a post somewhere, but I can't find it. if I want to make up a ltr of dechlorinator for my pond from sodium thiosulphate & water, what is the amount required?
Sorry if I missed it somwhere  ..Mike

It depends how much chlorine you intend to take care of 1ppm chlorine take much less S/T than 10ppm chlorine

i have it written on the wall of my lab but im just off for a few days surfin, but i think 200 gm to 5 litres,. and this is the instructions from my label machine when i used to sell it. It certainly was not more than 250 gm so if in doubt use that.

These days if I need to do a rapid water change I just throw a handful in

Please bear in mind it’s impossible to O/D with this stuff and also 3ppm chlorine is unheard of in the uk water supply

POND GUARD
DECHLORINATOR
ENOUGH TO DECHLORINATE 45.000 GALLONS OF VIRGIN TAP WATER AT 3 PPM CHLORINE CONCENTRATION
FOR HGHER DOSES OF CHLORINE MULTIPLY THE BELOW DOSE UP

DOSE at 10 ML PER 100 IMPERIAL GALLONS
only dose for the amount of new water going in to the pond, if it's a total fill of the pond, dose as for
the entire pond volume before filling

can be used to reverse a potassium permanganate treatment rendering it harmless

In case of ingestion or inhalation seek medical assistance
Average Contents 1 IMP GALLON
