Hi gazz
I like your self always feel theres room for improvement and although my water looks cristal clear most of the time, I'm still not happy with the amount of sediment being caught by my second bay which is a settlement bay with brushes , these need serious cleaning in the summer months, and that means a complete stripe down . if K1 is worth a try and the idea of an air line to agitate and then rinse sounds good, but the K1 will need a sound cage to retain it in place.
my bays are about 4ft X 3ft X 4ft deep so ideally sheets no smaller than 4 X 3 if I could find some .
Of corse I could try K1 in filter bags don't know how that would work but I have my doubts.

You could of course split the bays up so you have a couple of smaller bays than one big one which will help the K 1 agitate better.
Could you perhaps turn one into a static chamber like a Easy type of thingy
What do you currently use for mechanical stages Terry
Sorry for the questions and you still have a cracking pond whatever you say

Hi Gazza
I think the static idea could be the right way its probably the best for sediment traping, all I have at the moment gaz is a 4ft dia. by 5ft deep vortex on both systems followed by the 4X3X4ft deep bays full of brushes. These are infact spawning brushes bundled in and they do a good job but need regular attention and that is what I need to improve on.
I also use ladys tights (keep it to yourself) cut of at the crutch and one leg placed over each of my 6in. transfer ports from my vortices

they work well but again they are heavy maintanence.
There is also the filter box on the skimer with brushes and foam.
Oh and thanks for the link eventualy
this is the bay after fitting the deflector screens
