Japanese matting biological chamber

Pond is 6ft x 3ft round with a surface of 28.26ft.
Filter will be bottom drain to compact sieve into a round brush chamber then into a round 33" W x 36" H Japanese matting biological .

What are the do`s and don`t when setting up a Japanese matting biological chamber ?
