Hikui

Post by greg »

This has been bought up on the "cosmetic" thread and i wanted to cover this as there is so much up in the air on this at least to my understanding...

Is it contagious? (ie:- will it spread to other koi under any condition?)

There are various things out there that are supposed to help but i've no idea on their effectiveness and for how long so wondered if anyone has any real life experience of treating Hikui and the success / failures of that.

Honey and salt was mentioned

An old treatment i've never seen - Billion liquid?

I also think i'm correct in saying that Duncan's - lock and seal might work?

This then leads me into the other thread a while ago were we were talking about Propolis - has anyone used this in its raw form to treat Hikui?

Hm, the contageous bit hasn't got me exactly "pleased".... I have 13 other fine hikui-free examples who are in with mutley (from the other thread).

Hm....
