Fluke-M does not work any more ?

Post by tomy2ponds »

Hi I am seeing on a few forums that Fluke-M does not seem to be working any more, and there are rumors that an ingredient has been removed/changed.This is even when people have used acetone to dissolve it,It might be me going mad (nothing surprising there I hear you say)BUT if you work out how much Flubenol is in a packet there is no ware near enough,I used this on a pond a year ago and it did the job first time with follow up scrapes clear of flukes weeks later. So has something changed or been removed ?
What are your experiences of this ?

Hi Lee,

I think we have all know many have said that they have used Fluke M and it has not worked and to be honest in the begging it was because people where following the instructions and was not using acetone so it will never dissolve correctly. I have to say when that happened there was this "new way" which was to treat with PP first and then Fluke M  what a great way to make money imagine you take you car to the garage and are having two Tye's on the front but as you are the tread will have more on the front so we will have to put two new ones on the back as well  :D

One of the problems we have though is we have no idea how many people are doing it correctly as i have had it many many time where people have said this doest work and then you find out they are not sure on the volume of the pond and have not used the correct amount "stuff"

I am not sure if the Fluke M has been changed or not as i have never used it but if this is the case then surly they should make sure it does work before they put it back on the market but to be honest as i said above i have found that many have always struggled with it and that is where the double dosing come from.

i suspect Kusuri have invented flubenol resistance themselves with there absolute lousy and useless application advice

if you have been told how to apply it wrong it will contribute by the amount of time it will now take to go into suspension to the flukes becoming resistant

let put it another way

if you can dissolve it 100% straight away the flukes can still build a resistance anything could but if it takes 2 or three days to dissolve that means it will be say day 1, 30% day 2 60% day 3 90% and at last if at all 100% these days at partial strength is all the time the fluke needs to learn how to resist

imagine sombody poisoned you in one hit your chance of survival and therefor building any resistance is zero if they poison you a bit each day you have more chance of survival and building if its possible an immunity

they are some folks in india that have been bitten so many time by Cobra they are now immune!

so as flubenol when just put in hot water will not dissolve but will eventually im afriad its probably Kusuri's own making get it?

That coupled to the fact just about everything if its used often enough will promote this immunity effect which is yet another reason i dont use it to often and never dose twice

Hi Dunc,

A very interesting point how many times have we told people that you do not need to dose twice with Flubonel but apparently you do as it will not kill the eggs on one pass

What a load of BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it would not deal with the egg then surly what a waste of time it would be when they treat the pigs or sheep

I was trying to explain this to someone the other day but unfortunately as i am not the maker or a dealer they probably know much more than i and then i have an  i think i should go into sales for koi stuff as you can basically sell people anything and even twice as much as they need how good is that

Gazza
if this stuff is becoming useless and i have no data to confirm it yet it will definatly be because of Kusuri's louse advice for mixing it, trouble is any resitance will extend to the proper janssen stuff

any flukes that get resistant wont know which is which, so thanks martin your a star!

dont worry ion the words of Yoda there is another

Hi Dunc,

Yes i think we know about that star

I have to admit i have never had a problem with the real McCoy its work every time on one pass and even when used on others ponds and when i have given to others so hope its just the crap mix and the bad instructions they use.

Lets also put this into perspective and the bit that gets my goat and that is this is a approved treatment and if so where are the people who actually tested it and approved it now i would love a chat to them and although i am sure they are far more cleverer that i all i would ask is does it do what it says on the tin and how did they test it :?:

Hi Duncan I had not thought of the resistance angle I was assuming something had changed,I think you may have a very good point with it being resistance makes sense when you think about it.
