optimal temperature for tissue repair

Post by DaveB »

What is the optimal temperature for tissue repair, assuming we have oxygen at saturation for that temperature. Also what role does protein levels in food play assuming water quality is not compomised.
I s this any less important than using food which contain immune boosters such as propolis. Just wonder what you guys think to help the healing of wounds. Best Regards Dave

Hi Dave

I cant answer all your questions but the best tempreture for skin regrowth is around 23-24 but not above 27. With propolis whenever I have tried to use this on food the Koi and they wouldn't touch it. I normally have a cocktail of food with immune boosters and I normally dont have any problems with my Koi coming out of winter and healing of the odd knock. This is just how things go for me and there are much more experienced people on here to give you a better answer

Hope things are still going well for your Sanke

Interesting question in regards to tissue repair I so wish there was a magic option to get things done quicker but I guess nature can only go so fast?

Are these so called wonder potions any good, I still see the mention of "Rapid Health" bouncing around but have never seen any hard core facts.

Kimr Thanks for you input. I understand a lot of koi keepers have a cocktail of foods and some make there own. The temp of the pond is just about at the temperatures you have suggested so hopefully this will help things along, Thanks for asking about the sanke. She is doing very well considering what she has been through. I have not had a look at the wound sinse the last time. However she is feeding all the time now and always looking for food. which is always a good sign. Best REgards Dave

Hi Dave

That is great news about the Sanke, it is always good to see them come for food and seeing as she is looking for it as well can only be a good thing. I think when you have a wound of that nature and the signs of healing are so good it is always hard when to decide to have a look just to check and make sure it is still doing ok, but I would say the healing of that wound was quite rapid so the chances are she will just keep on improving I hope so anyway
